There are people, not far away from you, who are living in worse situations than many others.
For several years, short actions have been organized to help people in need. Personally, I have been involved more than once in a short missionary trip to the beautiful country Latvia, which is part of the Baltic states. During this short mission trips, it has become clear to me that only one week of human assistance is not adequate enough for the situation these people have to reside in daily. Another thing that I realized, is that poverty or no prospect on the future, can be just one doorstep away from me.

Latvia is approximately 1,900 kilometers located from The Netherlands and has less than 2 million inhabitants who are often living in hopeless situations. Therefore investing in people and products is of vital importance!

“If your brother has become poor, and his hand can’t support him among you; then you shall uphold him. As a stranger and a sojourner he shall live with you”
{Leviticus 25, 35}.

Although I’ve never lived as a millionaire, I don’t have any complaints. I have a place to live and a place to work. I have a place where I am someone, someone who wants to be there for others. By investing in people and materials, by selling their products and services, we are able to create a possibility to reach a higher level. Together, side by side.Side by side, that’s what Blakus otram! presents and what we want to achieve. April 6th, 2012 – the first brick of Blakus otram! has been founded, side by side on to a better future!
